 Any current ATOA member may register a horse. If you are not yet a member, membership can be submitted at the same time as registration. 


ATOA is available in the US, Canada, and Australia. We are always open to new countries. 


American Tobiano Overo Association takes the security and privacy of our users very seriously. We use state-of-the-art security measures to protect our users' information.


ATOA registers Tobiano and Overo Paint Horses that meet ATOA registry requirements. Horses may be eligible for:

  • Regular Registry
  • Solid Paint Bred / Breeding Stock Registry

Eligibility is based on pedigree documentation, color/pattern characteristics, and ATOA rules.d an answer to this item.


Add 

Photos must be clear, current, and in color. Required photos typically include:

  • Left side view
  • Right side view
  • Front view
  • Rear view

Additional close-up photos may be requested to verify qualifying Paint characteristics. an answer to this item.


 Yes. If you are missing paperwork or photos, submit what you have. ATOA will work with you to complete the registration whenever possible. 


 DNA or genetic testing may be required in certain cases to verify parentage or Paint pattern eligibility. ATOA will advise if testing is necessary. 


 No. ATOA registration does not replace registration with other breed or color registries. ATOA registration is an additional credential that supports pedigree protection and program eligibility. 


 

Registered horses are eligible for:

  • ATOA awards and recognition programs
  • Performance and incentive programs
  • Breeders Legacy eligibility
  • Official ATOA documentation
